How to boost your immune system at home


 In order to feel good and happy, it is important that we take care of our bodies, in other words- of our immune system. Health is a priority, especially in a pandemic crisis. Find below a list of 7 easy habits that you can adopt now to improve your general well-being and strengthen your organism.

1. Drink water with lemon

Just after you wake up, make sure you pour yourself a cup of hot water mixed with half squeezed lemon. The drink has proven to kill cancer cells and regulate blood pressure, to name a few. Doing this little habit everyday will definitely boost your immune system.

2. And drink more water

It cannot even be stressed enough how important it is to drink sufficient amounts of water every day. Тhe benefits are countless: maintaining blood pressure, preventing kidney damage, supporting the digestive system, regulating body temperature. And drinking at least 2 liters of water can provide all of that.

3. Reduce meats and sugars

Don’t cut the cake but make sure you reduce it. It’s common knowledge that processed meat and sugars are bad for our bodies. Eating a great deal of low-energy food can result in a weak immune system and thus we will be more likely to get sick. Try to eat meat 2-3 times a week (fish is a great alternative) and get your sweet dose of chocolate as rarely as possible.

4. Eat your vitamins

Don’t rush to the pharmacy to get your multivitamins- get them from the grocery in their natural shape. Taking a pill a day is easier but nowhere near as effective as eating fruits- and to be more specific it should be 6 fruits a day. Citrus, kiwis and berries are great sources of vitamin C. Apricots, peaches and pomegranates are rich in zinc. You make your pick- it’s all good for you.

5. Cold showers

If you are a fan of long and hot showers consider finishing your water therapy with a few minutes of cold flow. It may sound a bit extreme but the list of benefits is long: improved immunity and circulation, increased alertness, relieved depression. Don’t forget to take a few deep breaths before you take a cold shower- this will reduce the body temperature shock by increasing the overall oxygen intake.

6. Breathe like a Wim Hof

Wim Hof is known for his amazing breathing techniques. Taking 10 min of your day to practise any of them will definitely help you sleep better, be more focused, feel stress free and recover faster from physical exertion. 7. Exercise

Exercising has countless benefits: strengthens your bones and muscles, reduces risk of heart diseases, manages blood sugar and insulin levels.
